A little about myself:  I was born and raised in Tennessee (Go Vols!) and moved to Northern Virginia in 2010 for work (original, I know).  After five years with the federal government, including stints at FEMA, Dept. of State, and the Appalachian Regional Commission, I now work in the Public Affairs department at Total Wine & More.  I founded this tournament in 2013 as a way to give thanks and recognition to the men and women who were returning home from years of war.  I'm a strong believer in the "talk less, do more" motto, and I saw this as a great opportunity to combine a sport I love with a cause I care deeply about.  I was a former Captain and Academic All-American in tennis at Ferrum College in southwest Virginia, and I remain active in many United States Tennis Association leagues and events.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and son, traveling, reading, visiting historic hotels, and complaining about traffic.
