The Serving For Heroes Charity Open is a premier 300pt USTA-sanctioned tennis tournament hosted at Lake Newport Tennis Facility in Reston, VA.  The tournament is open to all USTA members.

Serving For Heroes Charity Open was founded in 2013  as a way for the Mid-Atlantic tennis community to give thanks and recognition to the men and women who were returning home from years of war.  Over the last six years the tournament has hosted more than 500 tennis players and raised over $50,000 to support the recovery process of wounded veterans as well as ease the emotional and physical hardships that many military children experience while a parent is deployed.   In 2013, the tournament won the USTA Military Tennis Award.

Our Military Kids, Inc.

This year's tournament will raise funds for Our Military Kids, Inc  ( - a nonprofit organization that provides support to the children of deployed and severely injured National Guard and Military Reserve personnel (along with children of Wounded and Fallen Warriors from all branches of service) through grants for sports, fine arts, and tutoring.

Our Military Kids is honored to once again be the beneficiary of the Serving For Heroes Charity Open. Money raised from this tournament will not only fund additional grants but also send a powerful message that we as a community appreciate the service and sacrifice of our military families. Thank you for making a positive difference in the lives of our military children.
